Windows only!
A quickly programmed Virtools app rendering recent modeling and texturing stuff. If theres' time, I'll implement some more models and cool shader stuff soon. Camera rotation with LMB + movement, Zoom with Mousewheel, Fullscreen with G. Rest is explained in viewer. Credits for SSAO shader code: swapmeet forum people.

2008/2009, a project for the ARS Electronica futurelab in Linz, Upper Austria. In cooperation with the London-based interactive arts group the Sancho Plan we developed an interactive music game for a HD stereoscopic environment called deepspace. My tasks as Virtools dev-lead focused on app programming, shader dev, VR/cluster setup and 3D content integration.

2007 until 2009, Bongfish in Graz, Styria developed their nextgen AAA title Stoked for the XBox360. The highly anticipated game is all about real-physics backcountry freestyle snowboarding and was released on February 24th, 2009. My tasks during 2007 and 2008 focused on level design, concept art & content integration as well as minor game design & conceptual level editor development.

The whole mountain, from sculpting / shaping / modeling, conceptioning / placing assets & challenges, creating vegetation, setting up light & colors and managing asset / content integration, was done by me. Other mountains I worked on include Mt. Shuksan (Panoramae), Almmirante Nieto and Mt. Fuji (both half the thing). The clip is recorded by someone playing the game for Youtube.

Ratmania

2005 until 2007, I worked on Ratmania, a 3D Jump'N'Run game with film/CG video clips for the PC. Ratmania was part of my diploma thesis Ludo, ergo sum. The game was a big success upon it's release, with heaps of downloads, reviews on newspapers and game magazines as well as nominations on multimedia festivals (including Austrian National Prize & EUROPRIX 2008). My work focused on game design & development, project management, level design, production and screenplay (intro). Download Ratmania!

Quake 3 HTL

2003, I made a modification for Quake 3 Arena to chase after colleagues in my highschool HTL Vöcklabruck. Of course it was possible to decide which student or teacher you play. Contrary to expectations that might come into mind upon this setting, this was more a challenge for me whether I can build up my school, friends and teachers in 3D rather than something ideologically or morbidly driven.

Ratatak
[Animation] Production, Screenplay
Beside the development of Ratmania, we (by we, I refer to some 40 people that nerded together for months) created a 6 minute intro movie for the game, using both HD footage and CG (AND - real actors!). The story is all about two russian scientists who discover tiny alien artefacts and therefore believe that rats are an extraterrestrical lifeform, visiting earth just for one ultimate goal: To annihilate mankind and take over the blue marble.

But scientists wouldn't be (good or evil) scientists if they wouldn't take the opportunity to use some laboratory rats for mean artifact experiments, instead of warning citizens about the rising phantom menace. This is where you hop in to the rats mind and control it in the Jump'N'Run game Ratmania. The story continues to evolve throughout the games' parts, but we won't be nice if we reveal every story-twist right now, would we ;-) ?

2005, I worked on an animation short movie which is all about the struggles of life to build up relationships, hooked up on two airplanes chasing after each other. Airstrike was done during my studies in CG and was shown at some film festivals.
