2023-ongoing: We at Polycular research and develop a new form of AR Escape Game that supports Multiplayer via Local Network and Internet and works without any image tracking (based on Google ARCore/Apple ARKit). This allows an educative experience like in VR but with Tablets and Smartphones. The game will serve as tool for corporate teamwork trainings, accompanied by a professional teamwork trainer.

We 3 And Me

Ongoing: This side-project is a children's book in form of an interactive comic game. The story evolves around friendship, empowerment and inspiration. Three kids and the player together build a solar-powered soap box to win the big race. Will they be the rabbit or the turtle?
The game makes extensive use of mobile sensors (e.g. gyroscope, vibration, location service) and AI (e.g. speech recognition, synthesis) to enhance the experience. Focus is put on MINT topics (Mathematics, Informatics, Natural Science and Technology). A major story pivot is the focus on supporting girls to enter MINT education and jobs. The usage scenario is alongside manual training in school classes (metalwork classes).
AK Escape Game

The game addresses the topics of smart home devices, home office legislation and the future of workplaces in the context of Industry 4.0.

Cobot Studio

2020-2022: We at Polycular developed the VR/Mixed Reality simulation "Cobot Studio" to carry out scientific experiments with Digital Twins on the topics of trust in human-robot collaboration.
The App allows users to walk around areas of interest (e.g. the old city of Salzburg) and discover virtual art along their way. Art pieces are enriched with animation, sound and text and interact with their real environment, in which they are seamlessly embedded into. (Screenshots only show dummy art to respect copyright).

2019: We at Polycular developed an Augmented Reality Escape Room for school classes with focus on Sustainability Education (Energy, Water, Mobility and Telecomm) for the Salzburg AG.
2018: I developed prototypes for virtual workbenches, where users interact naturally with the virtual environment. They pick tools (e.g. hammer, saw, drill) and execute tasks (e.g. drilling a hole).
Uses Unity/C#, VR glasses (Oculus Rift, HTC Vive), Hand Tracking (Leap Motion), AR Pass-through (ZED Mini) and HoloLens (not shown in the video).
2016-18: We at ovos developed this logistics simulation learning app for the Drogeriemarkt (dm).
Filialhelden puts the player in charge to manage accurately simulated shops. The player takes care of customer needs, keeps the shop tidy, decides about delivery plans, costs and goods distribution and has to keep all of that in good balance. The app provides helpful background information, LMS integration and learning content and is deployed corporation-wide.

2014-18: ovos developed this multiplayer cross-platform language learning game for the Goethe Institut.
Lern Deutsch features learning German by collecting words, exercising them and play (asynchronous) minigames with other players. Leaderboards, achievements, a branching quest system, custom avatars and social interactions add to the long-term motivation.
CURE Runners

2013-14: ovos and 3Coins developed CURE Runners to educate financial literacy in a state-of-the-art parcour runner game.
CURE Runners features parcour runner-like skill-based gameplay, a 15-day decision-based branching story, day/night cycles, 45 missions, permanent and non-permanent character upgrades, a master mode, a customizeable avatar and leaderboards.
Language Magician

2016-18: This project - co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the EU - is developing an assessment tool for learning languages (English, Spanish, German, Italian, French) at primary school level in computer game format. The game is in its piloting stage. The Language Magician is developed by ovos together with partners like the University of Westminster and the Goethe Institut.
The app features a teacher-controlled multi-client test suite in which kids learn language (e.g. words, phrases, relations) by collaboratively solving quests and collecting "magic energy" to free haunted animals from the grasp of an evil magician.
Bike'N'Learn

2015-17: ovos together with the research centers AIT, the FH OÖ and Fluidtime conceptualized mobility engagement concepts within the research project Bike'N'Play. The "Bike'N'Learn" concept was ultimately chosen to be developed as prototype and was tested during summer 2017 by Viennese bikers in a case study.
The server/client-based app features geolocation-based multiplayer language learning during bicycling or walking, similiar to popular mobile scavenger hunting games like "Pokemon Go", fitness apps like "Strava" and route planers like "Waze". The players see each other's position live in their surroudings. Every participant geo-tags places with pictures and sentences. These sentences are translated to a chosen learning language and whenever someone passes the tagged area, he or she will be presented the photo along with a short language quiz, the translation and further information about e.g. the landmark.

Ludwig features 3D adventure-style exploration gameplay with physics/energy-based experiments and puzzles, a linear heroes' journey, an upgradeable player character, humorous dialogues and cutscenes along with a Wikipedia-style knowledge base focusing on renewable energy.

aCHo is designed to help people relocating to Switzerland to learn the german language. No language knowledge is needed and the app focuses on daily-lif situations. The scene-based model was developed by gaming, education, didactics and learning psychology experts.
